Bluestone Communications was awarded and has begun construction on the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s new medical/surgical facility.  The 800,000+ square foot facility will provide 156 patient rooms, 32 operating rooms, rooftop helipad and a new emergency department.  Bluestone Communications was awarded the voice and data cable installation throughout the facility.  Additional scope of work includes the installation of RTLS, nurse call and camera cabling, as well as the wireless access point installation.  In addition, Bluestone Communications’ technicians installed the copper and fiber backbone to tie-in to the Main Hospital.

Hatzel & Buehler is proud to announce the acquisition of Devon Electric, Inc. – a full service electrical contractor specializing in the installation of Building Automation Systems (BAS).  Based in Malvern, Pennsylvania, Devon Electric is a family-owned business run by Beth and TJ Fay.  Founded in 1985, Devon Electric has grown to become one of the premier BAS contractors in the Philadelphia area, working for such clients as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, GSK, and University of Pennsylvania.

The acquisition of Devon Electric will add to Hatzel & Buehler’s growing Building Automation Systems division – Blue Sky Controls.  With a specially trained team of both office and field personnel dedicated to Building Automation Systems installations, Blue Sky Controls operates as a separate division within Hatzel & Buehler, Inc., partnering with valued integrators to complete the full range of BAS installations.

Bluestone Communications acquires Beech Tree Networks, Inc.

Bluestone Communications, Inc. – a wholly owned subsidiary of Hatzel & Buehler, Inc. – is pleased to announce that it has acquired certain assets and contracts of Beech Tree Networks, Inc.  Founded in 2002, Beech Tree Networks offered a wide variety of communication services such as copper and fiber optic structured cabling solutions, wireless solutions, and outside plant construction throughout Maryland.  Beech Tree’s lengthy client list includes such major entities as Johns Hopkins Medicine, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Maryland Medical System, LifeBridge Health, and the Social Security Administration.  Jeff Brigman, former President of Beech Tree Networks will become the Branch Manager of Bluestone Communications’ Baltimore office.

End Childhood Cancer Walk/Run October 2019

On Saturday, October 5th, employees and their families, from both Hatzel & Buehler and Bluestone Communications, participated in the End Childhood Cancer Walk/Run (formerly known as The Lemon Run).  The race raises funds and awareness for childhood cancer and is the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s largest special event with nearly 3,000 people attending.  In addition to employee participation, Hatzel & Buehler and Bluestone Communications actively participated in event fundraising.  The Foundation and its heroic efforts towards fighting childhood cancer are hugely important to our organization.

To further support their customers in Southern New Jersey, Hatzel & Buehler and Bluestone Communications made the strategic decision to open an office in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey.  The new office will focus on the commercial, healthcare, higher education and industrial sectors.  The Mt. Laurel offices proudly maintains relationships with Rowan University, Jefferson Health Systems, Virtua Health, Inspira Health, Carekinesis and Agro Merchants.

Hatzel & Buehler has an existing office in Hamilton, New Jersey, which supports the northern New Jersey market.

Hatzel & Buehler and Bluestone Communications’ employees proudly participate in 13th Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand Telethon

On June 13th, employees from Hatzel & Buehler and Bluestone Communications participated in the 13th Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Telethon, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Employees answered phones, processed donations and helped support other Telethon functions.  The 14-hour on-air benefit, for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, raised nearly $7,000,000 for pediatric cancer research.  Over its 13 years on-air, the event has raised over $36,000,000 for the cause.

Pittsburgh Office completes work for The University of Pittsburgh

In partnership with both local and national integrators, Bluestone Communications will a provide a turn-key wireless solution for the University of Pittsburgh’s Petersen Event Center.  This work will provide access to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Network.  When complete, this will be the first ACC Network to go live in the country, enabling sports fans to access the ACC Network for watching replays, ordering food at the concession stands and keeping up with scores from other games around the Network.
