Bluestone awarded maintenance contract for Thomas Jefferson University Hospital

Bluestone Communications was again awarded the on-site maintenance contract with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.  The maintenance contract includes all Thomas Jefferson center city campuses and surrounding areas.  Bluestone’s on-site technicians provide project management services, while overseeing all Moves/Adds/Changes (MAC) and general project work, for the twenty seven buildings on the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital campus.  Work is performed in office, hospital and educational facilities, requiring Bluestone technicians to work in environments involving patients, doctors, nurses, students and the general public.

Bluestone Technicians are also working on various projects at Aria Health (after the Thomas Jefferson acquisition of Aria Health).

Bluestone hires industry veteran and opens branch office in New Jersey

In an effort to better serve their existing New Jersey Customers – as well as establish new local relationships – Bluestone Communications has opened a branch office in South Plainfield, New Jersey. Steven Demcsak, a 25-year industry veteran to the New Jersey market, will oversee the new branch.  Steven’s long-time experience with premier financial, healthcare, and pharmaceutical institutions will help support and grow this new venture.

With 1.6 million man hours worked in 2017, Hatzel & Buehler and Bluestone Communications proudly ended the year with zero lost time injuries. Leveraging our multi-tiered safety team – functioning at the corporate, branch and field levels – Hatzel & Buehler and Bluestone Communications’ TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate) continues to be significantly less than the Electrical Industry standard.

Employees from Hatzel & Buehler and Bluestone Communications generously donated funds to support the American Red Cross and their disaster relief efforts.  The companies matched all employee donations, with a 100% matched donation.

Bluestone awarded contract for Comcast Innovation & Technology Center

Bluestone Communications was awarded IT and Acoustical packages throughout the new Comcast Innovation & Technology Center – a 1,500,000 square foot, 60-floor building (currently under construction) in Philadelphia, PA.   With a height of 1,121 feet, it will be the tallest building in Philadelphia and the ninth-tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. The building will consist primarily of office space, but will also include a newly constructed Four Seasons Hotel, television studios, a retail mall, a parking garage and a restaurant located on the top-floor of the building.

Bluestone’s overall scope of work includes the Installation of Structured Cabling, CATV infrastructure,  Fiber & Copper Backbone, Wireless Infrastructure,  Sound Masking and Network Hardware through-out over (40) floors that Comcast/ NBC will occupy beginning in the spring of 2018.

Bluestone performs expansion work at CHOP’s new Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care

CHOP is expanding the Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care building to build out floors 9-12. Bluestone Communications was awarded the Installation for the horizontal voice, data and coaxial cabling. Bluestone will also be working with CHOP’s vendor to install the Nurse Call system, Video Surveillance system, Access Control Systems and the Audio Visual system.

NECA recognizes Bluestone for Safety excellence

Bluestone Communications received special recognition from NECA for their excellence in safety, proudly receiving the “2017 Zero Injury” Award.

Bluestone completes additional work for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

Bluestone technicians recently completed work within the Medical Behavior Unit, at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  Bluestone’s overall scope of work included the installation of horizontal cabling, copper and fiber optic backbone cabling, security system equipment and cabling, equipment racks and cable runway, overhead paging system, nurse call system and an RTLS (real-time locating system).

In 1996, the Knollwood Community Center (located in Claymont, Delaware) was established.  The Community Center provides after school care, a summer day camp, and adult and family activities. The Center’s food closet was established in September 2004 and has become an invaluable source of outreach to the Community.  Hatzel & Buehler and Bluestone Communications executed a food drive to support the Community Center’s Holiday needs.
